Vice President, Head of Finance

Full Service Production Agency is looking to hire a VP, Head of Finance.  As the top Finance professional in the organization, the VP, Head of Finance will play a key role in managing Strategic Finance functions, Accounting, Reporting, and Analytics, working with the Founders and other key executives as the company continues along its growth path.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the finance function, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, tax, treasury, and financial reporting, leveraging your startup experience.
  • Be the go-to financial partner to each of the executive team leaders.
  • Prepare and present financial information to leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Deliver transparent and strategic understanding of finances across all departments to inform our business model evolution, pricing strategies, investment areas, operational rigor, and financial performance across the organization, guiding leadership to make data-informed decisions.
  • Drive ad hoc strategic projects, including corporate development activities.
  • Strong knowledge of and comfort in navigating the company’s financial systems, as well as actively and consistently monitoring these systems on a day-to-day basis and providing guidance on the potential scalability of these systems as the company evolves.
  • Oversee management of detailed budgets and forecasts, providing insightful financial analysis and reliable reporting to senior management to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls while navigating the agility and rapid growth inherent in startup environments.
  • Play a key role in financial and operational reviews at the executive level, highlighting risks & opportunities in a constructive way to senior stakeholders.
  • Streamline financial operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
  • Oversee international and domestic finances, including managing compliance and banking and vendor relationship management.
  • Work with outside CPA to ensure domestic and international tax compliance and audit reporting, if applicable.
  • Objectively evaluate Finance & Accounting personnel’s performance, mentoring and guiding the team on best practices and growth opportunities for their careers.
  • Pro-actively manage and participate in communication with Managing Partners and leadership, keeping a pulse on the company’s financial performance and day-to-day operations while focusing on long-term objectives.
  • Continue to build Finance & Accounting teams that support the vision for the company’s financial future, demonstrating situational leadership across all team interactions.

Desired Education, Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar degree required.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Current or recent experience leading all aspects of the finance function, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, tax, treasury, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in a startup or growing, entrepreneurial, middle-market company is highly preferred.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: Advertising, Marketing, Event Planning, Media, Entertainment, Content Production, or similar.
  • Much of the work can be performed remotely, but we require candidates in or near the Los Angeles area, to be available for regular, onsite leadership meetings.
