We are looking for an experienced Assistant Vice President of Data Management to join our team. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and strategic use of financial data critical to our investment operations. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of financial markets—particularly fixed income instruments—along with strong technical expertise in SQL and Excel.
In this role, you will lead the management and enhancement of our security master database, perform detailed data quality checks, and resolve discrepancies. You will also oversee the automation and delivery of reports that support trading, risk, and operational decision-making. Developing robust SQL queries and driving process automation will be essential aspects of this position.
You will play a central role in integrating data from internal systems and third-party sources, ensuring seamless interoperability and data consistency. This position will also involve identifying and implementing process improvements that increase the efficiency and accuracy of our data workflows. As a cross-functional leader, you will collaborate across departments to align data strategy with firm-wide objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance & Strategy: Manage the maintenance, accuracy, and continuous enhancement of the firm’s security master database.
Data Quality Assurance: Lead the validation of incoming data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness; investigate and resolve anomalies.
Reporting & Automation: Oversee the development and automation of reports related to trading activity, data quality, and security reference data.
SQL Development: Write and maintain complex SQL queries to support data analysis, reporting, and extraction for internal stakeholders.
Data Integration: Manage the integration of data from external vendors and internal systems into core databases to support trading and analytics platforms.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize data workflows, ensuring best-in-class practices for operational efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with investment, operations, compliance, and technology teams to support data-driven initiatives aligned with the firm’s goals.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Significant experience in data management within financial services or investment management; hedge fund experience a plus.
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced skills in SQL and Excel
Strong knowledge of relational databases, data architecture, and data integrity practices
Familiarity with financial market data, especially fixed income products
Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data issues.
