Compensation: $170,000 - $195,000 + 20% Bonus

Position Summary

As the VP of Accounting, you will be a crucial part of the executive leadership team in a growing multi-entity healthcare organization. This role involves leading and enhancing the finance and accounting functions, covering core responsibilities such as general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) accounting, as well as managing the month-end close process, banking and treasury activities, and sales & use tax processing. You'll ensure the maintenance of financial controls and leverage the ERP system and other technologies to optimize processes. Your expertise in strategic finance initiatives will be vital in guiding the company's aggressive growth plans. Additionally, you will provide ownership and support to business unit and department leaders, including those in Shared Services and regional operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Enhances and maintains a robust system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Promotes continuous learning, well-being, professional satisfaction, and staff development through training, work assignments, increased responsibility/autonomy, and mentoring.
  • Assists leadership in executing operational changes and enhancing performance.
  • Manages the monthly close process, accounts payable, accounts receivable invoicing, and timely cash receipt applications, along with other finance and accounting functions.
  • Acts as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on significant and complex healthcare issues, providing guidance and direction for the department in line with the financial services strategy.
  • Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax regulations.
  • Develops the team and builds strong relationships with leadership to drive high-performance outcomes in a collaborative environment.
  • Prepares necessary documentation and oversees the annual audit process.
  • Establishes and sustains a culture of financial responsibility, emphasizing internal controls, corporate compliance, and revenue enhancement.
  • Works with Revenue Cycle leadership to accurately assess accounts receivable reserves and evaluate patient accounts receivable.
  • Manages cash flow, monitors the organization's cash needs, and develops proactive strategies to meet projected cash balances.
  • Leads the integration of finance activities following mergers or acquisitions.

 

Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA AND public accounting experience
  • 6-7+ years minimum experience with a mix of public/private Healthcare environments
  • Multi-location experience
  • Strong knowledge of process flow, system enhancement, and GAAP
  • Proven financial statement preparation and analysis experience
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Creative, proactive, and forward thinking with a mindset to drive continuous improvement
  • Team player – able to assist different departments as needed
  • ERP experience in NetSuite, MS Dynamics, Great Plains, SAP, Oracle
