Company Overview:

Our client is looking for a Training & Development Director in which you will lead the Learning and Talent Development strategy for their organization. This is a newly created position. Based in West Covina, you will oversee a team of 3 Training Managers responsible for designing and implementing training programs across their entire workforce. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align learning initiatives with organizational goals, leverage data analytics for continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with performance management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Learning and Talent Development strategy that supports organizational objectives.
  • Lead a team of 3 Training Managers in designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs across the organization, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
  • Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) expertise, specifically with Cornerstone and Workday, to manage and optimize training initiatives.
  • Implement training strategies that address the needs of a large employee population (2500+), including but not limited to programs on Sexual Harassment, eLearning, Customer Service, Salesforce, Leadership, Mentor Leadership Training, and Rising Leaders 3-Day Course.
  • Collaborate with department heads and HR to identify training needs, design relevant programs, and assess training outcomes using data-driven insights.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing training effectiveness and adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to training and development.
  • Manage budget allocation for training programs and initiatives, ensuring resources are used effectively.
  • Foster a culture of learning and development that supports employee growth, engagement, and retention.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in training and development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification in Training (e.g., CPLP) highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Learning and Development, with demonstrated success in implementing training programs for a large employee base.
  • Proven experience with Learning Management Systems, particularly Cornerstone and Workday, including implementation and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze training metrics and provide actionable insights.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills, with experience leading a team of training professionals.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel locally as needed to support training initiatives.
