Company Description:

Our Inventory-Based client is looking for a strong Controller who will work with key business leaders on the company’s day-to-day financial activities. This will be a hands-on leader who will be responsible for ensuring monthly financial statements are complete, accurate and in compliance with GAAP. Their ideal candidate must have a CPA license and currently hold a Senior Manager or Controller title in a Manufacturing or Inventory-Based Company.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with GAAP.
• Direct all aspects of accounting operations, including execution of operational accounting policy, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, international accounting, revenue recognition, and other accounting activities.
• Develop and maintain cost accoutning systems to track product profitability and cost variances.
• Oversee inventory valuation using FIFO, LIFO, or weighted average cost methods.
• Implement and monitor standard costing methods for WIP, finished goods, and raw materials.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Interact with operational departments to gather all relevant financial data to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting package and variance analysis.
• Communicate with key business leaders and play an active role in the monthly actuals vs. budget review meetings.
• Own relationships with accounting consultants, external auditors, and tax advisors; manage annual audits and handle all tax-related workstreams.
• Work closely with the Strategic Planning team and assist in the forecast and budgeting process.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and lead process improvement efforts to increase accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of month end close.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the accounting information is accurate and timely.
• Contribute to departments and Company on special projects.
• Manage, develop, and mentor the accounting team members.
• Support system upgrades and enhancements.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree
• CPA license is required.
• 7+ years of accountign experience in an Inventory-Based Company is required.
• Experience using NetSuite is required.
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
• Capacity to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
