Position Summary
The company is seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and a continuous improvement mindset to help scale the finance organization and support strategic growth initiatives. This is a critical leadership role within the finance team and a key business partner to the CFO and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and payroll
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Direct the monthly close process and drive continuous improvement to accelerate timelines and improve accuracy
- Oversee the development and maintenance of internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate governance standards
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain leadership to improve cost controls, margin visibility, and inventory management
- Manage annual financial audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team
- Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives
- Participate in ERP optimization efforts and other technology or automation initiatives
- Support M&A integration and financial due diligence, as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
- Strong technical accounting background with in-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience in a manufacturing and distribution environment (light or high-volume manufacturing preferred)
- Demonstrated success in managing inventory accounting and cost accounting functions
- Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work onsite in City of Industry, CA
