Our is a $500M+, consumer facing company, looking to hire a strategic and analytical Director of Marketing Finance to partner with their marketing team to drive data-informed decision-making and ensure the efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI on marketing investments.
Position Summary:
The Director of Marketing Finance is responsible for overseeing financial planning and analysis (FP&A) related to marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment between financial goals and marketing strategies. This role serves as a key advisor to the marketing leadership team, providing insights, analyses, and recommendations to optimize marketing spend and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Develop, monitor, and analyze the annual and quarterly marketing budgets in collaboration with marketing leaders.
- Provide forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario planning for marketing investments.
- Marketing ROI & Performance Analysis:
- Assess the ROI of marketing initiatives, campaigns, and channels, identifying opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and track KPIs to measure the success of marketing strategies.
- Strategic Business Partnering:
- Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to align financial goals with strategic priorities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, offering data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Process Improvement & Tools:
- Enhance and streamline processes for budget management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Evaluate and implement financial tools and systems to improve analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals supporting marketing operations.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 8-10+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 5 years focused on marketing or commercial finance.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, especially in a marketing context.
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of marketing performance metrics and ROI analysis.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, Tableau, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
- Experience in [specific industry, if applicable, e.g., consumer goods, technology, or retail] is a plus.
