We are looking for a Financial Controller that will maximize the overall value of the company. You will be an integral part of the team in managing the finance and accounting department and providing guidance to department managers by supporting analytics and budgetary information that aligns with the company goals. This is a senior position that is proactive and solution-oriented. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and wish to build and implement accounting best practices. You are always looking for opportunities for improvement, automation, and efficiencies. The Controller will be a key role and will report to the CFO.
The Financial Controller directs daily operations for accounting and successfully performs the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements. Lead month-end and year-end close process.
- Provide leadership and manage all financial and accounting operations and processes to include Billing, Payroll, General Ledger, A/P, A/R, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition and Cash flow management.
- Manage month-end inventory reconciliation and collaborate with Operations for inventory integrity.
- Monitor and direct the financial system infrastructure including integrations of QuickBooks, Fishbowl and Shopify.
- Develop a relationship with external auditors and execute audit
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances with regular analytic reporting for digital and store teams
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Analyze cash flows to maintain adequate balances in all cash accounts.
- Manage the budgeting accountability processes
- Measure the performance KPIs that support the company's strategic direction
Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting or business administration, CPA preferred
- 10+ years of experience
- Ability to multi-task with efficiency and confidence in fast-paced environment
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel. Access and data queries skills a plus
- Strong technical skills especially experience with inventory, manufacturing, retail stores/POS and E-commerce
- Leadership level communication, analytical, and time management skills
