Plant Manager

We are seeking a Plant Manager in our Cleburne facility. This leadership role will be responsible for overall plant operations, personnel, departmental and company policies and adhering to local government regulations along with adhering to the company's HSE standards. The role will report to the Sr. VP of Supply Chain & Logistics Your responsibilities will include the following:

 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for overseeing daily activities of the Plant and worksite
  • Achieve and improve production associated KPIs, targets, and goals
  • Work closely with engineering team to optimize plant output and minimize excess costs
  • Develop a plan for maintenance schedules, new equipment upgrades, and management of capital projects
  • Promote a sustainable production environment while meeting all HSE initiative and goals
  • Develop the company policy and procedures to investigate any violations of policies and procedures
  • Monitor and control plant operating expenses and identify areas needing improvement
  • Employ Lean manufacturing principles whenever possible to plant workflow and design
  • Hire and develop a team of employees who foster and exhibit the company's way and who have a desire to grow, develop, and learn new skills ongoing
  • Encourage a culture of compliance and commitment to company standards
  • Provide advice and counsel to line managers to help them resolve problems, roadblocks, or visibility
  • Influence and collaborate with functional areas like supply chain, engineering, quality, HSE, and sales to best serve customers

 

Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Continuous Improvement (CI), LEAN, and Six Sigma
  • Thorough knowledge of production equipment, process unit operations and industrial facility systems
  • 5+ years of plant management experience
  • 10+ years of chemical engineering experience


Industry Knowledge and Experience

  • Understanding of the chemicals industry, competitive landscape, partners, and suppliers
  • Strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and growing market share in the fine chemical industry
  • Industry expertise in sales of unique fine chemicals into the chemical and other industries

  • Understands comments and concerns expressed by participants during daily activities and meetings
  • Effectively communicates with executive management and board of directors
