About the role

As a Solution Engineer, you will help customers solve their highest-priority data problems by applying your pre-sales technical skills and passion to lead businesses to the new world of Industrial DataOps.

This role is remote in the US only.

What You'll Do

  • Lead your clients through evaluating and adopting the company’s Data Fusion and the company’s industry Applications
  • Be the technical product expert for customers and stay up-to-date on the competitive landscape
  • Support your customers by authoring reference architectures, how-to documents, and demo applications
  • Engage with the technical community (customer and internal) by leading workshops, seminars, and meet-ups
  • With the incorporation of Value Selling techniques, qualify prospects; develop success criteria for demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and pilots; system builds, and sales cycle win plans; lead demonstrations and demonstration development; and contribute to delivering proof-of-concepts and pilots
  • In conjunction with Business Development Directors, you will contribute to account strategy and form deep client relationships throughout your assigned territory to achieve technical and business value
  • Assist sales in responding to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
  • Share best practices within the company’s technical community and drive cross-functional collaboration across the company
  • Provide timely and insightful input back to other corporate functions, particularly product management and marketing
  • Travel around 50%

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role for a SaaS company, with a deep understanding of the data analytics ecosystem
  • Understanding of complete data analytics stack and workflow, from ETL to data platform design to BI and analytics tools
  • Experience working hands on in the data lake, data warehouse, data management, business intelligence and/or data science segments
  • 2+ years of Asset Heavy industry experience in a customer or working with customers where you’ve gained deep value chain expertise in one or more of the following operational areas - Oil & Gas Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream, Process Manufacturing, Power (generation, transmission, distribution) or Renewables
  • Outstanding presentation skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos
  • Detail oriented, strong relationship-building skills and a focus on being viewed as the customer’s trusted solution advisor
  • Experience with Value Selling or other solution selling methodologies
  • Self-starter & superb time management & prioritization skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and work on multiple projects individually as well as being part of different teams
  • Comfortable programming and debugging at least one of Python, Scala, Java, or Javascript
  • AWS, Azure, and/or GCP certifications a plus
  • Start-up experience (Series A, B, or C)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience through demonstrable work experience
