J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for a Vice President - IT Platform Solutions (Fund Accounting) at a prominent Global Investment Firm in NYC.

My client’s Technology & Data leadership team is seeking an experienced Platform Solutions leader to manage the delivery of technology solutions for key stakeholders within the Fund Accounting organization. The individual will be driving and managing the successful execution of key projects across the team. The role requires the individual to mobilize cross-functional teams towards agreed upon goals showcasing key benefits. The individual will be accountable for overseeing and reporting progress on the portfolio of initiatives monthly as part of internal monthly operating reviews. Furthermore, the individual will be assisting the leadership team on other key business initiatives. The role is based in their NY office.

Working directly with Senior Management, accounting professionals and top executives, the Vice President - IT Platform Solutions (Fund Accounting) will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing operational readiness of an array of fund accounting technologies and practices.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Direct and manage a portfolio of projects and ensure that the implementation plans for each project is on track for the Fund Accounting team.
  • Develop and manage key relationships across the Fund Accounting team along with other key functions within the infrastructure team
  • Lead a select set of high priority projects to completion by mobilizing a cross functional teams
  • Serve as point of contact to determine priority, resourcing, and capacity planning for new projects
  • In partnership with key stakeholders within Fund Accounting and Technology, develop a

    comprehensive technology roadmap to address key priorities, allowing for continued scale and growth.

Conduct monthly project reviews with key stakeholders and the Technology Data leadership team

The ideal candidate would have a background:

  • Prior experience in investment technology consulting and delivery (5-7 years).
  • Prior experience in working with Fund Accountants and technologies used in this space, ranging from workflow tools and relevant analytics
  • Excellence in balancing multiple projects and efficiently meeting goals in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to successfully partner and communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with business management, investment professionals and a demonstrated ability to influence and impact the business - Ability to understand the details but at the same time convey relevant facts to a senior audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to forge relationships resulting in successful partnerships
  • Strong negotiation skills, business acumen and customer focused
  • Confident communicator; able to present and argue a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views
  • Enthusiasm for learning & results oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Required Education:

  • Strong academic record and a BA/BS or Master’s degree

SALARY RANGE: - Expected base salary for this position is between $150,000 and $200,000 for candidates with experience supporting fund accounting/finance stakeholders. System exposure to Geneva would be highly preferred. However, base pay if hired will be determined commensurate with experience and is only a part of the total compensation package which includes eligibility for a discretionary bonus and a robust benefits package

Hybrid Work Schedule

  • 4/1 split (Monday-Thursday work from office, Friday work from home.)
