Job Description – Market Development Representative

Our Client is hiring an experienced Market Development professional to engage with architects, contractors and building owners to win specification of a novel structural building envelope system on commercial and residential construction projects, effectively manage the design and planning stage, obtain the order, and to foster adoption of this system more broadly in the market by working with clients to leverage each successful project.

Expectations/Responsibilities

  • Cover South Texas
    • Focused on San Antonio and everything South of there
    • Significant business in San Antonio and The Valley
  • Engage with architects, contractors, and building owners and consistently generate prospecting and project engagement meetings
  • Increase qualified sales pipeline
  • Close sales to meet company revenue objectives
  • Handle Full Sales Cycle
  • Qualification Meeting/Pain Identification/Present the Solution/Close
  • Will have the technical expertise to formulate the solution based on the pain points identified during the Qualification Meeting
  • Can also meet with Technical Team prior to presenting the solution
  • Manage account all the way through the Construction Phase
  • Facilitate Lunch and Learns and other learning/marketing/development opportunities
  • Focus on Market Awareness and Interest Development throughout territory

 

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Candidate will be goal-oriented with a demonstrated sales record of quota attainment.
  • Candidate will demonstrate consultative sales skills and will be able to uncover prospect pain points and project opportunities.
  • Candidate will have the ability to develop and present solutions to address customer needs and pain points.
  • Candidate will have effective account and relationship management expertise with the proven capability to handle objections, accurately qualify prospects and projects, and develop and present solutions to address customer needs and pain points.
  • Candidate will have relevant architecture, engineering and construction experience with specific knowledge of structural and building envelope systems.
  • Candidate will demonstrate an understanding of common building design and construction processes and systems and be able to read and analyze construction documents.
  • Candidate will be considered a credible subject matter expert and trusted advisor with the ability to challenge the conventional approach to construction problems.
  • Candidate will demonstrate confident verbal and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Candidate will have an aggressive approach to prospecting and building market presence.
  • Candidate will be diligent and consistent with the use of CRM and other prospecting and analytical tools.
  • Candidate will participate in constant networking and market research to uncover new targets and opportunities.
  • Candidate will be comfortable working in flat organization with cross-functional teams.
  • Candidate will be resilient and capable of staying focused through long sales cycle.
  • Candidate will be confident and passionate and will have the spirit and persona of a true product evangelist.
  • Candidate will be adaptable and comfortable in a start-up environment with the energy and drive to find new and alternative solutions to help the company grow.
  • Candidate will be collaborative and a strong team player.

    Non – Negotiable Requirements

  • Candidate must have a successful track record of quota obtainment in a previous role.
  • Candidate must be a true hunter who has built a book of business in a previous role.
  • Candidate must have relevant architecture, engineering and construction experience with specific knowledge of structural and building envelope systems.
  • Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of common building design and construction processes and systems and be able to read and analyze construction documents.
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate consultative sales skills and the ability to uncover prospect pain points and project opportunities.
  • Candidate must be adaptable and comfortable in a start-up environment with the energy and drive to find new and alternative solutions to help our client grow.
  • Candidate must be a passionate seller.
  • Candidate must be willing and able to travel throughout South Texas to be face-to-face with prospects and clients.
