We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our fast-paced produce packaging facility in Idaho. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production lines, ensuring food safety and quality standards, optimizing efficiency, and leading a team of supervisors and production staff. This role plays a vital part in meeting customer demand, maintaining compliance, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all aspects of produce packaging operations, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of production schedules.
- Manage and develop production staff including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and food safety standards including HACCP, GMPs, and FSMA regulations.
- Monitor production output, minimize downtime, and proactively resolve bottlenecks or equipment issues.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.
- Participate in budget planning, cost control, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, staff attendance, and safety incidents.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of production or operations management experience in food processing or packaging; produce industry strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, OSHA regulations, and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Proficient with production software, MS Office Suite, and ERP systems.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
