A well-establish food manufacturer based in Southern California is seeking a hands-on, strategic, and operational minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial future of company. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), risk management, and corporate strategy support. The CFO will play a critical role in driving profitable growth, enhancing systems and controls, and delivering timely, accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Team on business planning, investment strategy, and long-term growth initiatives.
- Drive company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Ensure integrity of financial statements and compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
- Operational Finance & Controls
- Oversee all accounting functions including AR/AP, payroll, GL, and monthly closings with strict adherence to a 10-day close deadline.
- Maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial information and prevent fraud.
- Lead ERP implementation and optimization (Microsoft Business Central), ensuring real-time visibility and integration across departments.
- Cash & Risk Management
- Manage company cash flow, credit facilities, insurance, and banking relationships.
- Develop strategies for working capital optimization and cost control.
- Ensure the company is adequately protected from financial and operational risks.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Build, coach, and mentor a high-performing Finance and Accounting team.
- Establish performance metrics and accountability across departments.
- Stakeholder & Investor communication
- Lead board reporting, investor relations, and audit committee presentations.
- Support M&A, capital raises, and potential partnership evaluations.

Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in food manufacturing, CPG, or high-growth environments.
- Proven track record of leading finance departments in fast-paced, operationally intensive
- companies.
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and ERP systems (Business Central experience a plus).
- Experience working directly with founders, boards, and external partners (banks, auditors,
- investors).
- Hands-on leadership style with a bias for action, urgency, and accuracy.
