Business Development Foodservice Sales

An expanding, growing specialty fresh produce company seeks a proactive salesperson to broaden their customer base. The Business Development Representative will develop sales for their existing items and the new commodities they are adding to their lineup. This key role will work closely with management to target and develop key business targets.

Experience developing business with foodservice broadliners, fresh produce distributors, among other channels is sought.  Experience selling fresh produce is strongly desired.  Backgrounds with non-perishable food will not fit with this position. The role is based in the greater Dallas, TX metro region and will work in-office.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop new business with broadline food distributors, fresh produce distributors, small grocery and retail chains, and additional channels.
  • Work closely with management to prospect new customers and gain new accounts.
  • Utilize all touchpoints to interact with prospects. Conduct face-to-face sales meetings with potential customers to understand their needs and negotiate contracts.
  • Detail oriented, prioritize workload and customer needs, ability to stay self-motivated and highly organized.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Capitalize on company’s facilities, locations, growing regions, and strengths to develop and service accounts.
  • Maintain and manage new accounts. Drive increased and incremental sales with current and new products.
  • Represent company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Understand the current trends within foodservice and other channels, analyze the competition, develop strategies, and execute targeted tactics to increase the company’s market share regionally and nationally.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite products, knowledge of inventory management software
