We are representing a well- established produce distributor that is searching for a Driver Supervisor to join their team. This position is responsible for the effective leadership of the people and processes relevant to transporting products in a safe and efficient manner, facilitating customer questions and concerns, communicating and coordinating customer needs, and owning the customer experience at the point of service.
Responsibilities
- Teach and facilitate an amazing customer experience from our Drivers to our end customers!
- Continually conduct Driver ride-alongs looking for safe working practices, creating efficient processes for drivers, and developing our drivers to be the best they can be – this position will spend most of the time with drivers in trucks running delivery routes.
- Perform on-road driver evaluations, site audits (Company and Customer to minimize hazards), and truck audits in various markets.
- Ensure personal safety is observed, truck safety and driving safety.
- Perform audits of driver paperwork, including orders, pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Train new drivers in proper procedures including operation of all equipment (vehicle, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.), safe operational procedures, customer contact/interaction, order delivery and other duties associated with the Delivery Driver/Transfer Driver roles.
- Cover PTO and drive routes as needed.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of ELD (Electronic Loggin Device) experience required, Samsara preferred, but also Omnitracs, PeopleNet, or Keep Trucking. Routing experience with Omnitracs Roadnet Anywhere or similar routing experience is a plus.
- A good knowledge of Microsoft products and the ability to create and edit docs, primarily in Word and Excel. We also utilize MS Teams, so experience with Teams is a great plus.
- The ability to work as part of a team, lead a team, maintain professionalism and perform consistently at high levels.
- Strong knowledge of DOT Hours of Service rules and managing drivers to DOT regulations is required.
- Ability to assess an unforeseen situation, such as a vehicle malfunction, determine immediate needs and work to get the driver and business moving again.
