A well-established produce distributor is searching for a Warehouse Operations Manager to join their team. This position will be responsible for leading in the development, implementation and management of the operations strategy as well as provide overall leadership and direction to operations management and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain management.
- B.A/B.S in Business or related field, preferred.
- 5-7 years proven warehouse supervisory experience with ability to direct and coordinate operations.
- Knowledge of warehouse software packages (Famous) and MS Office proficiency.
- Knowledge of Produce-Pro.
- Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Requires availability outside of normal business hours, such as weekends and evenings.
- Periodic travel required.
- Bilingual preferred but not required
