An established fresh produce distributor is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the supervision, alignment, and continuous improvement of key operational processes: logistics, warehousing, production, and food safety. The main goal is to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance standards are met by working closely with each area’s manager to drive integrated operations that support the company's growth and service objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and support the work of the logistics, warehouse, production, and food safety managers, ensuring their efforts are coordinated and aligned.
  • Analyze each area's performance and drive cross-functional improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors and waste.
  • Implement tools and shared indicators to monitor the overall operational performance.
  • Establish clear communication and coordination mechanisms across teams to avoid bottlenecks and redundancies.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among operational teams.
  • Prepare and present operational KPI reports to the CEO.
  • Ensure proper implementation of safety and food safety protocols in collaboration with the respective managers.
  • Coordinate logistics efforts to ensure timely and efficient delivery and pickup of products.
  • Continuously evaluate warehouse and production workflows to improve speed, quality, and traceability.
  • Provide strategic support to operational teams during peak seasons and periods of high demand.
  • Participate in operational planning for new projects, products, or clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or related fields- preferred

Certifications in Supply Chain Management, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar are a plus.
Minimum of 5 years leading operational teams in fresh food, logistics, or distribution companies, with experience supervising multiple functional areas.

Strong cross-functional leadership and coordination skills

Analytical thinking and systems-oriented approach

Clear and assertive communication

Proficiency in operational tools and performance analytics

Knowledge of food safety and regulatory standards (HACCP, FSMA, etc.)

Ability to perform well under pressure and make effective real-time decisions
