A well-established food processor is seeking a Corporate Controller that will be responsible for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The scope of the position is also responsible for cash management and risk management.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Continually updating, overseeing, and reconciling all banking services utilized by the company.
- Maintaining the Company’s general ledger, including making entries.
- Manage the accounts receivable team and monitor customer payments, deductions management and following up on delinquent customers.
- Manage the accounts payable team to ensure adequacy of controls and processes.
- Assist in the maintenance and costing of inventory.
- Assist in the preparations of month-end/year-end reports including customer profitability.
- Assisting the leadership team/ownership with the budgeting process on an annual basis.
- Direct the accounting operations, especially control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
- Manage the monthly closing process, including journal entries, cost accounts, and financial statements.
- Lead the monthly operations review with management.
- Prepare monthly and annual forecasts/budgets for P&L and all defined cost centers.
- Partner with CFO to increase efficiency, profitability and drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Assist with inventory accuracy and inter-plant material transfers.
- Maintain inventory data, including bills of materials, formulations, balances, turnover and related reserves.
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner.
- Complete periodic bank reconciliations when needed.
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
- Provide for a system of management reports.
- Complete and provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
- Identify best practices within the role and strive to improve processes and efficiency.
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Lead the annual audit and tax audit process as well as manage all regulatory filings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED-
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressively responsible accounting experience in a midsize food manufacturing or manufacturing company or division of a corporation.
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or similar field required; MBA and/or Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- The last 4 years’ experience with revenue control and financial reporting responsibilities.
- Proficient with ERP systems, possibly familiar with Sage X3.
- Strong understanding of profit & loss statement, general ledger, and balance sheet.

Compensation: $170,000 - $225,000 DOE
