Northeast Regional Retail Sales Manager

An established and vertically integrated Grower/Packer/Shipper of fresh vegetables is seeking a talented Sales and Business Development pro to identify, develop and execute sales strategies for both new and existing retail customers within the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This position will work closely with a small sales team as well as a full Account Mgt and support team that handles day-to-day orders and admin functions. This position can be based near a major airport within the Northeast U.S.
Responsibilities:
- Execute short and long-term sales goals and strategies that increase revenue and volume of strategic relationships with customers, growers, distributors and suppliers.
- Accurately forecast monthly and quarterly sales activity and trends.
- Actively develop new customers as well as expand sales to current accounts (retail centric) within the Northeast sales region.
- This role will travel regularly (up to 60%) within the Northeast Region and nationally, on occasion for customer presentations, business meetings, industry events, etc.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in fresh produce sales with retailers. (potato, onion or other veg categories)
- Strong understanding of retail programs (Itrade, Retail Link, etc.) and successful track record with account mgt.
- Experienced with produce quality, logistics, and retail program sales.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a sales strategy as well as getting results through new customer acquisition.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an entrepreneurial spirit and business mind.
- College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study preferred or relevant job history.

Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 DOE
