A well-established produce company is searching for a Production Manager to join their team. The Production Manager will oversee the safe and accurate receipt of goods through employee coaching, leadership and follow up. Ensures workplace health and safety requirements are met. This individual will ensure productivity and accuracy targets are met and maintain receiving elements of warehouse management systems are administered effectively. They manage teams of workers and deal with personnel issues such as the training and discipline of staff.

Work 5 – 6 days per week; typical work hours are 6am-3pm; Scheduled work days may include holidays. The Production Manager has 4-5 direct reports that operate 7 days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Scheduling of staff relative to volume trend data
  • Schedule and monitor inbound appointments while managing flow alongside buyer and warehouse management staff
  • Administers quality inspection of all incoming product
  • Ensure employees are following all SOP’s, FSMA, HACCP, FDA, Primus GFS audit and compliance standards.
  • Train, Motivates, organizes and encourages teamwork
  • Ensuring the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment
  • Oversight of all admin functions and training.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other Company data, including personnel information.

     

    Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 3-5 years of production experience in produce or perishable goods warehouse.
  • Post-secondary education preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
  • Must have proven track record of managing large groups of employees.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to maintain a high level of self-imposed discipline.
  • Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, present information and direction, and field questions from managers, employees and external contacts
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including a strong ability to lead cross functionally.
  • Highly proficient in computer-use skills (WMS, MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Produce Pro a plus.
