A well-established Produce Company is searching for a 2nd shift Operations Manager to join their team in Dallas, TX. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest quality service in delivering fresh produce and specialty foods to our fine dining and white tablecloth restaurant clients. This role focuses on managing logistics, coordinating with warehouse and distribution teams, maintaining food safety standards, and driving operational improvements to ensure the company remains a leading distributor in the region
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage the 2nd shift operations facility, including warehousing, receiving, inventory, night crew and distribution.
- Lead and oversee warehouse staff, drivers, and dispatchers to ensure accurate, timely deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s food safety standards, managing quality control to deliver the freshest products. (FSMA)
- Coordinate with the purchasing team to forecast and manage inventory, minimizing waste while ensuring product availability.
- Streamline distribution processes to maximize efficiency and maintain the company’s competitive delivery schedule of nightly specialty produce shipments.
- Monitor facility performance metrics, including order accuracy, delivery timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain equipment and infrastructure, ensuring all vehicles and machinery are operating efficiently and safely.
- Foster a positive team culture by conducting regular performance evaluations and training sessions for employees.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve client concerns and address service issues promptly.
- Manage budget and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings while maintaining high service standards.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, including food safety, transportation, and labor laws.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in food distribution or logistics.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience leading large teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA regulations) and experience maintaining compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement operational efficiencies.
- Proficiency with inventory management and logistics software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across departments.
- Experience managing budgets and achieving operational cost savings.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
Salary: 120K-140K, Medical Benefits, 401K
