A well-established Produce Grower/Shipper/Packer is searching for a Financial Controller to join their team. The Financial Controller will oversee the day-to-day accounting and reporting operations for multiple entities. This role reports directly to the CFO and focuses on financial accuracy, compliance, and operational oversight, while supporting the CFO on strategic initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements for 4 separate entities in a consolidated format.
• Maintain general ledger journals and reconcile multiple bank accounts.
• Generate accurate weekly and monthly financial reports as needed.
• Support the CFO with data and analysis for decision-making.
• Compliance & Controls.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain strong internal controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Oversee a large, purchased fruit and import program with proper cost tracking.
• Lead the credit department, minimizing financial risk while maximizing sales.
• Manage cash flow processes and monitor working capital needs.
• Assist the CFO in preparing annual budgets and variance analyses.
• Provide detailed financial data for forecasts and strategic reviews
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team.
• Streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy

Skills and Qualifications:

• CPA license preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of public accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with reporting tools like Tableau or Crystal Reports preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
