An industry leading vegetable grower and producer has a terrific opportunity for a Pest Control Advisor (PCA). This company is a leader in their category, with strong ownership, management, and culture. This key role will oversee the pest and disease management program for three sites of conventional and organic vegetable crops, in both open field and greenhouse production.
Seek candidates who have an active California PCA license. Travel will be regional; overnights will be very few if any. Attention to detail, problem solving, team-focused traits sought.

Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor all crops for proper growth and development.
- Regularly scout for insects, diseases, or other problems.
- Recommend and implement pest control strategies.
- Monitor spray applications: Employees and equipment.
- Monitor crops for nutritional problems.
- Check and maintain fertilizer injection equipment.
- Oversee and implement quality control programs.
- Detailed record keeping (pH, EC, disease/insect pattern, weather, etc).
- Maintain crop schedules for timeliness.
- Oversee all phytosanitary protocols.
- Ensure proper operation of all greenhouse equipment.
- Work with Computer Environmental Control Equipment (Argus, Q-com).
- PCA reporting to county.
- Continual improvement through trials and education.
- Work with production on scheduling seeding, loads and plant movement.
Qualifications Needed:
- Degree in agricultural related field.
- PCA license.
- Self-motivated and ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers. Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Must be a team player.
- Microsoft office skills are needed. Proficiency in Excel required.
- Must be willing and able to work with farm chemicals including pesticides, fertilizers, acids and biologicals.
- Must be detail oriented and observant.
- Ability to drive between locations (insurable).
- Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
The base salary to be reasonably expected for this role is in the area of $100K - $125K per year. The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. Please note the base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses the position may be eligible for based on the role level and/or employment type.
