Exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, family owned & operated company with zero debt in a sales development role. Our client is expanding their sales organization for both business growth and succession planning. This is a critical role to develop new customers as well as manage existing relationships across all customer segments in the U.S. This role could lead to a Sr. Leadership position based on performance and the individual’s professional goals.

Our client is based in the Midwest (Illinois) with relocation assistance available.

Our client is a highly regarded fresh floral Grower with a fantastic reputation with Big Box Retailers across the nation. They have over 2,500 different floral and potted plant offerings and are known for innovation, collaboration, and exceptional customer service.

Customers include many leading North American retailers, garden centers, florists, bouquet makers, landscaping companies, fundraising/ecommerce companies, etc.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Increase sales revenue by securing prebooked orders for seasonal floral and plant products throughout the year.
  • Provide “Best of Class” customer service.
  • Forecasting and Inventory Management.
  • Quarterly demand planning of stock inventories.
  • Monthly monitoring of custom product inventories.
  • Up to 20% travel for trade shows, industry events, customer visits etc.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related selling experience in floral/potted plants.
  • Accomplished track record working with major, blue-chip retailers.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Passion for customer service and a motivated self-starter.
