Position Overview
The Director or VP of Marketing will be responsible for leading all marketing initiatives with a strong focus on retail penetration and growth. This executive-level role will report directly to the CEO and work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Development, and Operations to drive awareness, loyalty, and sales in the retail channel.
This is a remote-based role with travel as needed for key meetings, trade shows, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and retail market share
- Lead go-to-market planning for new products, seasonal campaigns, and retail promotions
- Build strong relationships with retail partners and support the Sales team with tailored marketing programs
- Oversee consumer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions
- Manage external agencies, media planning, PR, and digital marketing efforts
- Lead brand positioning, storytelling, and visual identity across all channels
- Own and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient spend and strong ROI
- Build and lead a high-performing marketing team as the company scales
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive marketing experience in produce industry (citrus, berries, stone fruit, grapes experience desired)
- Demonstrated success in driving retail penetration and growth with national or regional retailers
- Strong background in brand strategy, shopper marketing, and digital engagement
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA a plus
