Business Developement Manager

A fast-growing leading supplier of innovative packaging solutions is searching for a Business Development Manager to join their team. Our client is a well-funded company in high- growth mode. This position is a critical role serving the potted plant growers in the Midwest US. This is a remote-based opportunity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase revenue.
  • Provide “Best of Class” account management both externally to the customer and internally.
  • Grow the number of customers aligned with our client’s mission and marketing strategies.
  • Forecasting and Inventory Management.
  • Quarterly demand planning of stock inventories.
  • Monthly monitoring of custom product inventories.
  • Annual budgeting and monthly review of sales performance to plan.
  • Trade Show participation.
  • 20% to 40% travel depending on season.
  • Key Performance Indicators
    • Dollar and Unit volume performance to budget
    • New Account Development
    • Inventory Management
    • Profitability

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Master’s Degree or other advanced education beneficial.
  • 3 to 10 years of selling experience preferred in potted plant packaging solutions.
  • Experience selling US potted plant growers a plus.
  • Experience selling containers (glass, tin, ceramics, plastic, wood, and other) very beneficial.
  • Experience working in a leading potted plant grower company beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Contemporary technological, analytical, forecasting, and reporting skills required.
