Position Summary:

The position will help oversee day-to-day operations of our produce processing facility, ensuring all activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with food safety and quality standards. This leader will champion our commitment to SQF protocols, operational excellence, and sustainable growth—driving a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help lead and manage all aspects of plant operations including production, quality, food safety, sanitation, maintenance, and logistics.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety standards, SQF certification requirements, and internal SOPs.
  • Foster a culture of safety-first and ensure ongoing employee training in food safety, hygiene, and plant procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction.
  • Implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives using tools like Lean, Six Sigma, and KPI dashboards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, R&D, supply chain, and executive teams to align operational goals with broader company objectives.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation and reporting related to compliance, inspections, audits, and production metrics.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, promoting a positive, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a fresh food manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership/managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of SQF or similar food safety certification programs.
  • Demonstrated success in process optimization, operations management, and team development.
  • Deep understanding of GMP, HACCP, and other food safety protocols.
  • Proven ability to lead through growth and change in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Operations Management, or related field preferred.

Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 DOE
