Regional Sales Director

A growth-stage soil amendment company is seeking a Regional Sales Director to drive new business in California’s Central Valley. This individual contributor role focuses on prospecting, relationship building, consultative selling, and closing new trials/sales in alignment with company goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth by identifying new opportunities and managing complete sales cycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, advisors, and industry partners.
  • Provide technical expertise to help customers understand benefits of soil and water efficiency improvements.
  • Support less experienced sales team members through mentoring and coaching.
  • Manage the sales territory including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal technical, research, and operations teams to deliver customer success.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and conferences.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, from initial engagement through after-sales support.
  • Contribute to marketing and sales initiatives to expand market presence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with proven experience in agricultural sales.
  • Deep network of permanent crop growers (e.g., almonds, vineyards, orchards) in the California Central Valley.
  • Solid understanding of agronomy, soil health, and water use efficiency.
  • Demonstrated success in consultative sales and closing large-scale projects.
  • Knowledge of irrigation practices.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region.

Compensation

$100k–$130k base salary (DOE and performance) plus incentive bonus/commission.
