Seeking a Business Area Manager based in one of California’s large row crop areas (e.g., Imperial Valley, Salinas Valley, Central Valley) possessing a network of row crop growers and a proven track record of selling technology into this type of grower.

Job description:

  • Identify and target new business opportunities, focusing on acquiring new logos and expanding the customer base in the agricultural sector, especially row crops.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential leads.
  • Leverage a consultative sales approach to understand the unique needs of potential clients and tailor solutions to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute targeted campaigns to generate leads and increase brand awareness.
  • Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer needs and market trends to contribute to ongoing product improvement.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement strategic sales initiatives aligned with company goals.

 

Job requirements:

  • Expand the agricultural sales experience to include a successful track record of hunting and acquiring new business.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt sales strategies to address the complexities of cloud-based solutions for large-scale agricultural operations.
  • Proven success in managing complex sales cycles, from initial contact to negotiation and deal closing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate the value proposition of the company's solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date on advancements in ag tech and integrate this knowledge into sales strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field, preferred.
  • Possession of a Certified Crop Adviser or Pest Control Adviser license is a significant advantage.
