Position Summary
Strong, growing produce company seeking an experienced Value-Added Vegetable Produce Sales and Business Development Manager to lead sales growth and customer development for value-added produce programs. This role is retail-focused and will drive revenue, profitability, and long-term partnerships with national and regional retail customers, with a primary emphasis on the Western United States.
This position is ideal for a strategic, hands-on sales professional with deep experience in produce or perishable food categories and a proven track record managing national retail accounts. The successful candidate will combine field-level market knowledge with strategic foresight while representing the company’s brand and values across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth and business development for value-added vegetable produce programs
- Manage and grow relationships with national and regional retail customers, with a focus on the Western U.S.
- Identify new business opportunities, customer needs, and market trends within value-added produce categories
- Develop and execute sales strategies that support revenue growth, margin improvement, and long-term partnerships
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, marketing, and product development teams to ensure program success
- Represent the company in customer meetings, industry events, and field visits as needed
- Forecast sales, track performance, and ensure alignment with company goals
- Act as a brand ambassador, consistently representing company values and standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong background in produce or perishable food sales, with specific experience in value-added vegetable programs preferred
- Proven experience managing national and regional retail accounts
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute at a tactical, field level
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with internal teams
- Willingness to travel within the Western U.S. as required
