Description:

• An emerging Importer/Shipper of Mexican Veg is in growth mode.
• Seeking experienced and motivated sales talent for their small sales team for Mexican grown fresh produce.
• Primary commodities include dry veg (bell peppers, cucumbers, squash, etc.) but they have access to virtually any commodity grown in Mexico.
• In addition to selling their own product, this position also includes highly aggressive commissions for brokered sales.
• This position can be remote based in the Eastern United States.

Position Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and manage new direct sales in all customer segments. (retail, wholesale, foodservice, etc.)
• Broker additional product as needed to supplement customer demand during the peak season and generate sales in offseason.

Required Experience & Qualifications Include

• Previous successful vegetable category sales experience.
• Sales background in any or all customer segments. (retail, wholesale, foodservice, etc.)
• Good sourcing / trading background with established network strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of fresh market trends, swings and competition.
• An understanding of fresh produce supply base, production, and operations.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and business mind.
• College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study desired, or relevant experience in the produce industry.
• Target starting salary is between $80k - $110k, depending on experience. There’s also medical insurance, sales commissions and bonus potential.
