National Sales Executive

An established and vertically integrated Mexican Veg Grower/Packer/Shipper is seeking a talented Retail Sales pro to develop and manage new customers throughout North America. Retail customers is strongly preferred, but wholesale and foodservice customer segments are also targeted. This company sold 7M packages in the U.S. and Canada last year and prepped for continued growth. This position can be remote based.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with management on developing prospective target customers. (Retail, wholesale, foodservice operators, etc.)
  • Develop business with your own customer base, including program business.
  • Achieve growth with customers, such as sales volume, share of business, price, among other metrics.
  • Know customer quality preferences, minimize rejections.
  • Form relationships with various levels within potential customer organizations.
  • Strong forecasting skills, maintain consistent communication with management and supply team.
  • Work closely with shipping and warehouse. Keep on top of current and projected inventory levels and product availability.
  • Consistent travel to customers, trade shows, industry events.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of retail sales experience in the veg category sales. (beans, peppers, cucumbers, squash, etc.)
    • Strong relationships with veg buyers and category managers within retail and related customer bases that you can contact on Day 1.
    • Demonstrated success developing business. “Hunter” sales personality, self-starter, interested in prospecting and landing new customers.
    • Must be well organized, able to handle multiple priorities, attention to details.
    • Strong communication skills and follow-through.
    • Experienced with produce quality, logistics, and retail program sales.
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a sales strategy as well as getting results through new customer acquisition.
    • Skilled negotiation skills and problem solver.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and business mind.
