We represent a well-established Produce Company that is searching for a Transportation Dispatch/Router to join their team in Austin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the delivery routes for our fleet of trucks to ensure timely and efficient deliveries to our customers. This role requires strong organizational skills, a thorough understanding of transportation logistics, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and optimize delivery routes for fleet of trucks to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Monitor drivers' schedules and communicate any changes or updates to ensure smooth operations.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse and sales teams to prioritize and schedule deliveries based on customer needs and order volumes.
  • Track and manage fleet maintenance schedules to ensure all vehicles are in safe and operational condition.
  • Use routing software and GPS systems to create efficient routes and provide real-time updates to drivers.
  • Respond to and resolve any delivery issues or emergencies promptly, including traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, or customer concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of delivery schedules, routes, and any incidents that occur during transit.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and management to ensure alignment on delivery goals and customer expectations.
  • Analyze delivery performance data to identify opportunities for route optimization and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to transportation and delivery operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience in transportation dispatching, logistics coordination, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of routing software, GPS systems, and transportation management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and other safety standards related to transportation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

Salary: 45-65K, Medical Benefits, 401K
