Overview:
An established East Coast Importer/Shipper/Repacker of fresh produce is seeking an experienced Demand Planner and Data Analyst.
This role forecasts future customer demand for a variety of fresh produce categories. This person will analyze data, market trends, and various factors to predict what and how much will be needed in the future.
This position will be crucial to help optimize inventory levels, improve supply chain efficiency, and ultimately, meet customer needs effectively.
This person will work heavily with Microsoft Excel as a primary tool for many functions of this role.
Our client is based in the greater Philadelphia/New Jersey area. Being based in the office full-time is welcomed but they will entertain hybrid or fully remote candidates with the right experience.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Forecasting: Creating accurate demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors.
Data Analysis: Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify patterns and trends.
Inventory Management: Working with inventory management systems to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize waste.
Collaboration: Working with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align demand forecasts with business goals.
Reporting and Analysis: Preparing reports and providing insights on forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and other relevant metrics.
Skills and Qualifications:
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for analyzing data and identifying trends.
Quantitative Skills: Proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting techniques is a must.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to collaborate with other teams.
Knowledge of Supply Chain Management: A solid understanding of supply chain processes and principles is beneficial.
Software Proficiency: Strong aptitude and Expertise in utilizing Microsoft Excel is a must. Experience with forecasting software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools is also preferred.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field of study preferred and 2+ years’ experience managing large volume/SKUs. Fresh produce experience preferred but will consider food and/or CPG backgrounds.
